Israel joins the international trade mark system
Israel has become the 85th country to sign up for the Madrid System for the international registration of trade marks, and it will be possible to designate the country in an application to WIPO from 1 September this year.

Welcoming the move, WIPO’s Director General, Francis Gurry, said that Israel’s membership offered a valuable option for the country’s exporters, while the expanded geographic coverage of the Madrid System made it more attractive for businesses operating in international markets.
